The Mindful Cat is a collaboration between Brooklyn-based writer Amy K. Cheung and Oakland-based Story Artist Paula Assadourian.

The idea first started with Amy’s black cat @batmanthepuppycat and the text began as a poem. The story then naturally grew into something much bigger. Both Amy and Paula practice mindfulness on a daily basis and are very passionate in sharing those lessons with others, especially with kids and families. In 2017, upon reconnecting in NYC with a children’s book idea, their decade-long friendship formed an organic creative partnership and The Mindful Cat was born!

We welcome you into the wonderful world of mindfulness and our book journey.
